Although not on Canal Street, we also took part in the "Scrappy-doo Charity Day" to raise funds for the P.D.S.A.. The following are a few of the pics from the evening (some are not of the Gay Gordons).

21st June was the date of our next display at Churchills on Canal Street.

There was an impromptu dance display at the LAVA Cafe Bar at Castlefields on Sunday 31st May as part of the Pride Games Ceilidh. Below are a just a few of the pictures showing the audience partcipation.

The second dance display to take place outside Via Fossa in late May. This display was videod so there are not too many photes of the dances. I have added several sent by others. Thanks to all who took part.

Our first event was on Sunday 3rd May outside Tauraus Bar on Canal Street. Apart from a short shower or rain for 10 minutes we had a good afternoon dancing. Pictures from that demonstration are to follow below;

As a thank you and to commemorate the 250th Anniversay of the birth of Rabbie Burns (1759 - 1796) the group held a Haggis and Neeps dance demonstration night in the Outpost Bar in Manchester on 25th Jaunuary 2009. As part of the evening some dances were performed by a team of 8 dancers all in kilts - a great sight for those that were watching. We also danced some easier dances and got the audience invloved too. Heather Mackie read the "Address to the Haggis" before we all tucked into the traditional Haggis with neeps and tatties. Our thanks to Charles for providing the "goodies" - we all really appreciated it.
Below are a small selection of the pictures taken that evening - enjoy. Our thanks to all who took part.

Dance Demonstrations 2008
Although the Group has only been going for a few months and the classes for just a few weeks, we have held two demonstraions of
Ceilidh and Scottish Dancing and a third one is being planned.
The first was on the Sunday of the Big Weekend over the Bank Holiday Weekend in August.
Although this was our first "Public Outing" and nerves were frayed it was a good afternoon. We danced several dances and also
encouraged some members of the public to join the festivities.
Below is the only photograph taken by ourselves of the afternoon and it shows most of the dancers. Our thanks to all who took part.

Our second demostration took place on Sunday 9th November in New York New York, Manchester in the afternoon
and although only a few of our dancers could make it along, everyone enjoyed themselves and showed great enthusiasm.
It's amazing how the dancers have progressed in just 8 weeks!!
Our thanks again to the NYNY for asking us to do a short
demonstration and again to all the dancers that took part.
To round off the afternoon the dancers did a short set for the Pre-Hibernation Bears weekend in the Oupost.
Below are a few pictures from the day
